The songs from Benediktbeuren

The great manuscript of Benediktbeuren (Bavaria) is one of the most representative and famous monuments of the German-speaking poetry and music of the Middle Ages.

It treats the most popular themes of medieval poetry, divided into four areas, in lyrical-artful but also cheerful-excessive melodies: war, morality and their mockery, the spiritual poetry - but there are also reports of saturnalian orgies.
